IMPORTANT: This article contains information about modifying the registry.
Before you modify the registry, make sure to create back up of the registry and ensure that you understand how to restore the registry if a problem may occur.
For more information about how to back up, restore, and edit the registry, please review the relevant Microsoft Knowledge Base articles on support.microsoft.com.

This problem occurs if the OSIM Plugin related registry entry, ITRMOSIM, is missing from the windows registry under HKLM\SOFTWARE\ComputerAssociates\EGC3.0N\Plugins\

<Please see attached file for image>

Figure 3

To resolve the problem:

1. Go to HKLM\SOFTWARE\ComputerAssociates\EGC3.0N\Plugins\

2. Create a key with the name ITRMOSIM

  • Under ITRMOSIM, create a new 'String' and Rename the string to PluginDll and set the path as \CA\DSM\bin\gui_osim.dll

    • Example: If DSM is installed under C:\Program Files, then the complete path would be 'C:\Program Files\CA\DSM\bin\gui_osim.dll

<Please see attached file for image>

      Figure 4
  • Under ITRMOSIM create a sub key named Locale.
  • Under Locale, create 4 sub keys titled 'DE', 'EN', 'FR' and 'JPN' as shown below

<Please see attached file for image>

    Figure 5

  • Under each of these sub keys, create four strings as shown below
  • DE
