Sysload sdclient / sldrmd cannot start: "Could not listen"

Issue/Introduction

A newly installed sdclient fails to start.

The product log states that it tries to listen into an incorrect IP address not mapped to the current server.

Example of error in sdclient.log:

sdclient - Could not listen on 55.243.163.24:0 (host address:port may be already in use).
sdclient - Could not add listen endpoint on 55.243.163.24:0. Could not bind socket (errno=99)

Cause

Wrong system configuration, a line in /etc/hosts contained a wrong mapping between the hostname and the IP address.

Resolution

Ask System Administrators to fix the server hostname line in /etc/hosts so that it is removed or mapped to the correct IP address.
