Latency while copying file from network share to a local drive

Issue/Introduction

With the Network Shares channel monitoring enabled in the agent configuration, a latency is observed while copying files from network share to a local drive. 

Environment

Release : 16.x

Component : Endpoint Prevent

Cause

Creation and scanning of VEP files causes the delay.

Resolution

Set the value for FileSystem.ENABLE_VEP_FILE_ELIMINATION.int = 4 in the advanced settings within the agent configuration. This eliminates creation of VEP files and provides an enhanced performance for copying files from a network share.

This setting was removed in DLP 16.0, and will be returned by popular demand in 25.1, and 16.0 RU1 MP1 HF11 (16.0.10111.60718)
