Issue/Introduction

User gets Submission errors  (SUBERROR) on a Linux server.  The server may be in a cloud environment.

Environment

Release : Any

Component : WORKLOAD AUTOMATION DE (DSERIES)

                    WORKLOAD AUTOMATION SYSTEM AGENT

Cause

The agent logs show these errors:

 Jan XX 00:00:00 20XX: Cannot fork a new process to execute the job:NEWJOB1234/CORP_APPLICATION.50/MAIN, reason:Cannot allocate memory

 

Resolution

The WA Agent is unable to run the jobs because OS is unable to allocate the required amount of memory.  Make sure the OS has adequate memory

See this KD for additional information on cleaning the spool directory regularly.  Some UNIX/Linux filesystems may not allow creation of new files and directories if certain limit has been reached.
