NPC web GUI doesn't open and throws error: "Server Error in '/npc' Application"

Issue/Introduction

Description:

NPC web GUI doesn't open. Error message bellow:

Server Error in '/npc' Application.

The resource cannot be found.

Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Requested URL: /npc/default.aspx

Solution:

1. On NPC server, open IIS Manager and expand the server->Sites->Default Web Site.
   
   
2. Select the npc virtual app and click 'Basic Settings' on the right side.
   
   
3. Edit the 'Physical Path' property and replace any / with a \.
   
   
4. Repeat for the PortalWebService, SingleSignOn, VMWare, and WAAS virtual apps.
   
   
5. Run iisreset.
