Issue/Introduction

Description:

We often refer to live and historical metrics, but when does SmartStor metric data status change from live to historical?

Solution:

Metric data is considered to be live when it resides in the EM internal compressed memory cache.

Prior to 9.5, the cache size for the number of metric data points/timeslices was fixed at 32.

Therefore, any new data remains live for 8 minutes (32 x 15sec time slices) before becoming historical.

In 9.5 the memory cache can be configured to be larger by increasing the value of this property and restarting the EM:

introscope.enterprisemanager.memoryCache.elements
