Issue/Introduction

We use the USS automount facility for mount of user ZFS datasets. When this dataset is migrated/archived then a logon to USS failed when the home dir is /u/<userid>.
Example:
ZFS: hlq.BPXA2##1.ZFS.USER is in status ARCHIVED.
Logon to unix with home dir /u/<userid> gives error:
FOTS1681 Could not chdir to home directory /u/<userid>:
EDC5129I No such file or directory.cannot change to HOME directory.
FSUM2384 No session was started.  The system cannot set the current working directory to the specified home directory for this user ID.
Function = chdir(), directory name = '/u/<userid>', return value = -1, errno = 129 (X'00000081'), reason code = 05190050, message = 'EDC5129I No such file or directory.'
After recalling the user ZFS, everything went fine.
Is there a way to restore the ZFS during automount or do we need to allocate it with a never archiving MGMTCLAS.

Resolution

IBM code performs a recall only for pseudo volume MIGRAT. Run with RECATMIG set to Y to have DISK to use MIGRAT as pseudo volser instead of ARCIVE.
