Issue/Introduction

In the Modern UX when you go to a cost plan properties in the fly-out and change the period start or finish, this actually updates the cost plan dates for cost plan detail.

Cause

This is working as designed and is similar to editing the dates on the cost plan properties in classic view.

Once you change the dates on the cost plan in either classic or MUX the dates outside the range are dropped.

Resolution

Working as designed.

You can also change the default values that appear for the project START PERIOD
and FINISH PERIOD
fields. If you change the start or finish periods to a smaller date range, the application removes detailed data from the cost plan.

Example (classic or MUX)

1) Populate a cost plan covering 2 years.  (2021 and 2022)

2) Change the dates for only 2022

    - All data for 2021 is permanently dropped from the cost plan.

3) Change the date back to 2021

   - Plan shows 0

This is because in step 2 when you changed the dates to 2022 all planned data for 2021 was dropped from the plan.

You will need to repopulate the plan to get back the 2021 and 2022 data now.
