Issue/Introduction

New LMP keys have been received. How to apply them on a VM system

Environment

Component : VM:Backup

Release:  3.6

Resolution

The following link will take you to section "Managing LMP Keys" in the VM Product Manager Reference guide with the required steps to update your  keys:

https://techdocs.broadcom.com/content/broadcom/techdocs/us/en/ca-mainframe-software/traditional-management/ca-mainframe-vm-product-manager/1-2/reference/managing-lmp-keys.html

Additional Information

Due to changes in our systems, the structure of our keys have changed. The keys are no longer CPU dependent and are now site based.  You are still governed by the terms of your active license/contract and should see no impact to performance.

The SITEID control card must be the first record in the CALMP KEYS file.

Please note, the CALMP KEYS file that resides on VMANAGER's 1FF disk, must be lrecl = 128.

The company name must always be specified exactly as it was generated. It cannot be shortened or modified.

Here's an example with an LMP key for VM:Backup:

SITEID(12345678) SITECODE(G676GEBLZZHLPRTV69S19) NAME(BROADCOM)
*
* No blank lines allowed!  LRECL must be 128, Fixed!
