Issue/Introduction

14.2 Endpoint Protection (SEP) clients on Linux fail to connect to the Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM). 

Debug.log on the client shows the following error:

com.sygate.scm.common.configobject.ValidationException: The value of attribute "Version" associated with an element type "BIOS" must not contain the '<' character.

Environment

Release : 14.2 RU2 MP1

Cause

An invalid character in the registration information for the BIOS version results in a registration failure. 

Resolution

Symantec is currently investigating this issue.  This document will be updated when a fix is available.
