IG to IDM import failing due to Unexpected null value

Issue/Introduction

IG to IM import failing after role import.  The following is the failure reason:


Error: com.ca.clientconnection.clientapi.ClientConnectionException: java.lang.NullPointerException: Unexpected null value


Environment

Release : 14.x

Component : CA IDENTITY SUITE (VIRTUAL APPLIANCE)

Resolution

In order to troubleshoot this issue enable debug on import.  To enable debug to the following:

  1. Enable debug from the Home >Administration > Support Tools > log settings menu. This will display more information about the provisioning role failure. 
  2. Rerun your Import

Once the import fails review the log for the failure.  In the above scenario the null pointer was due to a lookup failure.  Correct the users provisioning role and re-import.
