Issue/Introduction
We created a site group containing the servers for which we wanted to suppress alerts. We created a maintenance indicator entry for these servers and set it start 2am and end 4am last Sunday, however we still received availability alerts when the servers in the site group alerted (just after 2am) due to a scheduled reboot.
What do I need to do so they don't alert during this window and how do I set it for every Sunday, not just a specific Sunday?

Resolution
Maintenance indicators do not suppress events. They are an annotation that is added to graphs. Maintenance indicators represent times when maintenance is occurring. After you schedule maintenance indicators, views indicate maintenance with shading. Basically it is a visual representation of when a device may be in maintenance. To put a device into maintenance, you have to do it manually by going to Administration > Monitored Items Management > Device Life Cycle. To determine how we handle devices in maintenance mode with respect to polling, threshold evaluation, and event notification, go to Administration > Configuration Settings > Life Cycle Behavior
