Issue/Introduction

What needs to happen for an ITR rule change to be picked up by IMS?    Will IMS pick up a rule change immediately?

Environment

Release : 16.0

Component : CA ACF2 for z/OS

Resolution

To implement the updated resource rules in the online environment, perform a directory reload. The RELOAD function requests the IMS interface to reload one or all of the locally resident resource rule directories. Use this function when changing resource rules that affect the IMS interface resources while IMS is running.

The syntax of the RELOAD function is:

/ACF RELOAD ttt|ALL

The RESET CACHE function requests the IMS interface to reset (clear) the resource validation caches for all current users. Use this function when rebuilding a globally resident resource rule directory that affects the IMS interface resources. Because the rules that affect the cached resources might have been changed, clear the resource validation caches and reset the caches to their initial state.

The syntax of the RESET CACHE function is:

/ACF RESET CACHE
