VTOC SIZE field limitation

Issue/Introduction

1) The VTOC size field is limited to 4 digits ( 9999) Max. where as the maximum allowed VTOC is 19656 tracks. So we are not able to make use of this VTOC for M54s where there huge number of 1 track files filling up the volume and that would need larger VTOC size

2) The VVDS has one value but its been used for both primary and secondary. Ex if we update VVDS=1500 , then the PRI and SEC are both updated as 1500,1500. Is there a way we can use a different secondary value. Normally on our manual batch executions we use ( 1500 1) as the space for Pri and Sec

Resolution

As the current VPVVDSSX Member does not have enough space to increase the VTOC Size or to add secondary space for VVDS the plan is to create a new member on json format, which then can be updated through the object tree like the new SMF configuration files. The host client can then no longer be used to update this Member.
