Under Administration -> Objects -> <Specific Object> -> Views tab, there are configuration capabilities that affect how the layout of certain tabs are shown to users, along with other configurations for individual attributes. Are these configurations/settings applicable for how layout and fields/attributes are show in the Modern UX?

Environment

Latest Version: 15.8.0

Resolution

No. Configurations made in the "Views" tab is purely for the Classic UI. It has no bearing on the Modern UX.

Some examples of configurations made through this tab that would not be applicable for the Modern UX are as below:
1. Layout:Edit/Layout:Create settings
2. Field names
3. Enter once capability
4. Fields hiding etc.
