How are timesheets created?
In both Classic list page and MUX if a timesheet shows as open, it does not necessarily mean a timesheet has already been created. Timesheets actually get created when an entry appears in the prtimesheet table.
Here are other ways (besides clicking on Create Timesheet or the timesheet icon) to create timesheets.
Example 1: In classic you are able to submit a timesheet by clicking on the checkbox on the list page and clicking submit. This will create the timesheet in the prtimesheet table.
Example 2: In MUX, on the timesheets grid filter for Open Timesheets (normally these have not been actually created and in the prtimesheet table either).
- Click on one of the rows. This will actually create the timesheet in the prtimesheet table.
What updates the Updated By on the timesheet?
When the timesheet is created, either by the user when filling in their time, or either of the Examples above the Updated By will show this person.
Other ways the Updated By can change is when a specific action is made on the timesheet.
These include:
Editing a timesheet that has already been created
Submitting a timesheet
Approving a timesheet
Returning a timesheet
Post Timesheet job will update the field to the user who actual ran the Post Timesheet Job.
