Issue/Introduction

Customers would like to know more information regarding the " java.exe " which is located under Web Agent install location.

Resolution

- The " java.exe " (Located under ANY AGENT INSTALLED LOCATION\install_config_info\install_config_jre\bin) is mainly used to extract and/or unpacking the Installer to complete the product Installation. The Agent does not start a Java process in run time.

- Only If needed and In case If you have any concerns regarding the security scan on this java.exe and/or If it come up in a security scan, then Just ZIP this folder and keep it in the same location for future use.

- This jave.exe is required to uninstall the product when ever needed so we have to maintain this java.exe under the above mentioned location. It is also used by the configuration wizard.

- Manually, we cannot upgrade this java since its bundled with the CA WebAgent Product Installer, InstallAnywhere.
