UNIX jobs are failing with return code 205

Issue/Introduction

A  new UNIX agent has been installed but jobs are failing with the following error message in the agent log.

20200528/161336.277 - U02000009 Job 'JOBS.UNIX.TEST_BOBBY' with RunID '76159424' ended with return code '205'.

Environment

Release : 12.x, 11.x

Component : AUTOMATION ENGINE, UNIX Agent

Cause

The exit code 205 means that the Job cannot switch to the submission user's home directory or the submission user does not have proper permissions on the executable ucxjlx6, or the temp or out directories of the UNIX agent.

Resolution

 -Check if the submission user is part of the user group that owns ucxjlx6

 -Check if the home directory of the submission user exists
