Select Box Data Migration to New Identity Manager Environments

Issue/Introduction

Select Box Data providers created from XML within an Identity Manager environment are not included in the standard Identity Manager Environment (IME) export generated via the Management Console. Consequently, these data sets must be migrated manually between environments (e.g., from Development to Production).

Resolution

To migrate Select Box Data, use the "Import Select Box Data" task within the User Console to perform a manual export and subsequent import.

Phase 1: Export from the Source Environment

1. Log in to the User Console of the older/source environment.
2. Navigate to the Import Select Box Data task.
3. Locate the existing data provider and click the Export link.
4. Save the resulting XML file to your local machine.

Phase 2: Import to the Target Environment

1. Log in to the User Console of the new/target environment.
2. Navigate to the Import Select Box Data task.
3. Click the Create Provider button.
4. Upload the XML file exported in Phase 1 and follow the prompts to complete the creation of the data provider.
