Below is more information on what caused the problem for this APAR to be released,
Environment
Release : 12.0
Component : CA-7
Cause
This is a timing issue on introduced by RO70017. The SASSSLIP module was not flagging when an error occurs getting the next JCL segment. This causes the LQ LIST=JCL function to loop.
Resolution
Apply HYPER APAR SO12696 as per the information provided
Additional Information
The problem can only occur if LQ,LIST=JCL,JOB=* is issued.
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CA 7 may loop when an LQ,LIST=JCL,JOB=* command is issued. This can occur when JCL is moving through the CA 7 queues while jobs are being processed. CA 7 is unable to get the next JCL segment for display but keeps trying to do so rather than terminate.
SYMPTOMS: Sites will see countless: CAL2D315E JER SCT(TERM0003) Q(REQ) REQ(GET) SEG(JCL) Opt(Next, , , ) Job( / / ) SASSSLIP errors in the CA 7 JES2 Joblog. It is possible this could overload the JES2 spool.
IMPACT: CA 7 will need to be re-cycled. JES2 Spool may be overloaded with messages.
