WP blocked while processing a huge script variable arrays.

Issue/Introduction

This issue can happen when script variable arrays are used, specifically when the maximum size of 99.999 is used.

When the processing of such an array is cancelled, the system can crash.

It has been observed that this was especially an issue when an ampersand was used in a script variable that was not to indicated a variable (e.g. Tiffany & Co.)  

Environment

Release : v12.0 / v12.1 / v12.2 / v12.3

Component : AUTOMATION ENGINE

Cause

This problem was related to the way big arrays were handled.

Resolution

Workaround:

Make sure that ampersands are only used in variables, reduce the size of the arrays.


Solution:

Update to a fix version listed below or a newer version if available.
