Issue/Introduction

CA 7  Release 11.3 starts and receives message  CA-7.V132  VSAM DATASET NOT INITIALIZED BY RELOAD and abends.

Environment

Release : 11.3 only

Resolution

One of three situations has occurred:

1.  Verify that the job that ran the CA-7 DATA BASE BACKUP/RELOAD PROCEDURE (PGM=SASSBK00) has not failed.

2.  If the action taken was not a RELOAD, the data set is empty and unusable.

3.  If the action taken was a RELOAD, the data set is not empty and does not contain the CNTL records required by CA Workload Automation CA 7 Edition 11.3.

Action:

Proceed as follows:

1.  Find cause of error for job that ran the CA-7 DATA BASE BACKUP/RELOAD PROCEDURE (PGM=SASSBK00) and rerun the job.

2.  If the action was not a RELOAD, initialize the data set by performing a RELOAD from a null backup data set.

3.  If the action taken was a RELOAD, verify that DBPARMS is referencing the correct DSN. If the DSN is correct, use IDCAMS to DELETE the DSN; then retry the RELOAD. This may be required if the database is on SMS controlled volumes.
