Issue/Introduction

Sometimes, the projects don't export from Clarity to Microsoft Project (MSP) with the "L" at the end, indicating it's not the lightweight version.

Environment

Release : 15.7.1 and higher

Component : CA PPM MICROSOFT PROJECT (MSP) LIGHTWEIGHT

Cause

  • This is working as designed.
  • The first copy you open is the mpp copy, and then the second copy is the lightweight version.

Resolution

You have to open the project twice, first to open the mpp, and then again to get the lightweight copy.
  1. In Clarity, navigate to Open in Scheduler, select the relevant option.
    • A copy of the MPP file is downloaded.
  2. Open the MPP file again from the Scheduler and the file is now downloaded with the suffix L to the project ID.
    • For example, if the project name is PR1006, the lightweight project file is named PR1006L.
