What is the difference between the One-Way and Bidirectional options for the Microsoft Project interface aside from the error that comes up when trying to export a project to Microsoft Project once it's already been imported to Clarity?
A Microsoft Project <File path> is already present on the local desktop for this project. Please open this local copy of the plan to manage this project.
For example, users can delete their local mpp file and then are able to export the project from Clarity and any changes made in MSP are able to be saved back to Clarity, which is the same as bidirectional. Additionally, other users are able to export the project from Clarity to MSP without getting the error, if they don't have the mpp saved in their MSP save directory on the workstation.
Release : 15.7.1
Component : CA PPM MICROSOFT PROJECT (MSP)
The goal of the one way connector is to prevent the accidental overwrite of the local MPP the user is maintaining. Hence the error and the export blocked. If the user chooses to delete the local MPP and 'start over', they have made a conscience decision to overwrite their local working copy.
