Issue/Introduction
This document describes the procedure to upgrade java version for Automic Workload Automation installed on windows hosts.
Environment
Release : 12.3
Component : AUTOMATION ENGINE
Resolution
After installing the new java version, please follow these steps:
- Add the new java binary and lib location the system variable %PATH%
- Update the environment variable %JAVA_HOME% pointing to the new location
- Update the java path in the Service manager dialog startup command for all the java based services (JWP, JCP..etc).
- Verify the Service Manager's uc4.smd to ensure there are no reference to the old java version.
- If tomcat (AWI) is installed on the same server - Update the Tomcat Service (if implemented):
- tomcatw.exe //ES//Tomcat9 (Note: Tomcat9 is the name of the service shown in the example)
- Got to Java Tab and update the Java location (as shown below):
