Issue/Introduction

We are trying to install, through the VMWARE client, the OVA of the Privileged Access Manager version 3.4 product downloaded from the Broadcom support site. Unfortunately in our infrastructure Vmware cannot install it because the OVA file is SHA256 but that the Vsphere client used is an older version and that only supports SHA1. We tried to modify the algorithm as explained in the VmWare KB but now the .cert file is missing inside.

Environment

Release : 3.4

Component : PRIVILEGED ACCESS MANAGEMENT

Cause

Vsphere client is older version say ESXi 5.1

Resolution

You could try something like this-
You can try unzipping the ova file then importing by selecting the vmx file. If it still doesn't work, delete the .mf and the .cert file then try again.

A better solution is to upgrade the client to latest version so the issue does not happen everytime.
You should try upgrading the VMware client as well as this does not support the sha256 which is becoming the new standard for hashing.
