Model Service running for hours with message "Starting"

CA Test Data Manager (Data Finder / Grid Tools)
We are getting "Scan is starting, please wait" message that keeps running for hours when we try to scan a DB for creating a data model. Can you please advise if there is an issue.

A restart of the Service got the Service back up and running.
