Issue/Introduction

Recently upgraded Common Services and ENF is no longer processing CA 7 Browse Log events so that OPS/MVS can do auto ticketing and highlight abends on the console.

Environment

Release : 14.1 or 15.0

Component : ENF COMMON COMP

Cause

After upgrading, the required DCM (Data Control Module) that defines the CA7BRWSE event was missing.

Resolution

1. Add the necessary DCM statement to the ENF parameter file (eg. ENFPARMS)
DCM(CAL2DCM1)

2. Restart the ENF address space

3. Issue the following OPS/MVS command to restart the interface that uses the CA7BRWSE event.
F OPSS,RESTART(CA7)

Additional Information

Issue command F ENF,EVENT(CA7BRWSE) to verify the event was defined and to view the current settings.

If necessary, use the ENF EVENT command to alter event options. Event options can be altered dynamically, however to retain changes include EVENT statements in ENFPARMS.

Console command:
F ENF,EVENT(CA7BRWSE,ACT)

ENFPARMS definition:
EVENT(CA7BRWSE,ACT)
