Issue/Introduction
A CPU upgrade is being planned in the near future.
Is there any grace period for current license keys to run the various CA solutions until the temporary or permanent keys are received for the new CPU ?.
This is mainly because we can only provide the serial numbers of the new CPU after the upgrade. .
Environment
Release : 14.0
Component : CA Common Services for z/OS
Resolution
None of the Broadcom mainframe products using CAIRIM license checking will fail.
CAS9 and the products themselves will generate multiple license expiry messages appearing on the master console/product syslogs (most are prefixed CAS9182A). These messages (by default ) start to appear 30 days before license expiry. No manual intervention is required for them .
In order to eliminate these messages, add this message to your SYS1.PARMLIB MPFLISTxx member.
Additional Information
Details on the setup and use of the MPFLSTxx member of SYS1.PARMLIB can be found in the documentation available from the IBM Knowledge Center.
