Clarity PPM On Premise

Issue/Introduction

I am seeking for some clear documentation for the following out of the box email notifications surrounding Clarity.

Environment

Release : All Supported Clarity releases

Component : CA PPM TIME MANAGEMENT

Resolution

Regarding your Timesheet notifications information, according to what I am aware of this is what they are:

Timesheet - Submitted

Will send email to all users with timesheet approval right over the resource

Timesheet - Returned
Will send email to all users with timesheet approval right over the resource

Timesheet - Overdue
When the project manager clicks on the Timesheet Reminder icon, email is triggered to the user to whom the timesheet belong.

Project - Added Participants

Will inform the resource they have been added to a project (both as Team and Participant). Any time the resource is added to the team it is added automatically as Participant so this notification could really be for both.

Project - Removed Participants
Will inform the resource they have been removed from a project as a participant in Team - Participants only. Removing from the Team Staff does not trigger this

Just so you know, all these notifications are OOTB and things may work differently if you are using a Timesheet Approval process.

Here is some additional documentation:

Now, although some users have reported issues with notifications sent over the access rights (see KB), we have tested the Timesheet - Submitted and Timesheet - Returned with three users out of which two with all Global rights including Timesheet Approve over the timesheet user. Only the user and the resource manager were receiving the notifications so this may have been addressed.

For testing purposes: You do not have to have email enabled, as all the notifications will display in Organizer - Notifications. The notifications will always be in Organizer - Notifications even if the user has disabled the email. If they disable the email they will not be able to receive anything.
