Issue/Introduction

With the release of Symantec Control Compliance Suite 11.0 on 30 March 2012, Symantec announced the End of Life for Symantec Enterprise Security Manager. The important milestones in the end-of-support schedule and their impact on the existing customers are listed in the following table.

Marketing or distribution of Symantec Enterprise Security Manager was ceased. The End-of-Life date started the timeline and the process leading to End of Support for the major release and the related minor releases and maintenance packs for Symantec Enterprise Security Manager.

End of Standard Support Life

08/27/2015

Symantec released the last Security Update, SU 47, for Symantec Enterprise Security Manager on 27 August 2015. This marked the End of Standard Support Life for the product. This also started the timeline and the process for the End of Extended Support Life for Symantec Enterprise Security Manager.

End of Extended Support Life

11/17/2016

 

On 17 November 2016, Symantec released ESM 6.5 agents for OpenVMS and AS/400. These agents were compatible with all the then supported Control Compliance Suite and Enterprise Security Manager consoles and managers.

 

17 November 2016 marked the End of Extended Support Life for Symantec Enterprise Security Manager.   However, Symantec continued to grant customers access to the knowledge base and continued to provide assistance through a fee-based service.
