Agent is missing all FrontEnd / BackEnd data since upgrading

Issue/Introduction

Since upgrading the agent to the latest release the investigator only shows a very cut down set of metrics compared to what was previously available. All that is displayed is as follows - we are missing FrontEnds, BackEnds, Servlets etc

Environment

Release : 10.x

Component : APM Agents

Cause

The missing items are all generated from code instrumentation (Autoprobe) so the in this situation the first things to check are the agent and Autoprobe log files.

In this particular situation the autoprobe log contained the message

Unable to instrument.  Invalid settings provided: 2 Invalid directives entry intelligent.pbd found in directives list file /appservers/wily10.7SP3/core/config/tomcat-typical.pbl

checking the file system confirmed that the intelligent.pbd file was not present in the core/config folder

Resolution

Re-extracting the agent from the install image replaced the missing files and the agent then ran correctly.
