Issue/Introduction

In CA-CSM when executing a Base Install for a Product, we suffer from a field being too small

for our "Standard Dataset Naming conventions".

We need to put in the text "O.CSS.C20A.NDIS.SMPE.GLOBAL" for the fields:
- SMP/E Environment Data Set Name Prefix also for the field
- SMP/E Data Sets Allocation Parameters - High Level Qualifier*:

It fails for the field SMP/E Data Sets Allocation Parameters - High Level Qualifier*:
the last character will be excluded.
The result is we will allocate files with a wrong datasname.

Could you please adjust the Field so that 1 more character can be in?

Environment

Release : 6.0

Component : Chorus Software Manager

Resolution

SMP/E Data Sets Allocation Parameters - High Level Qualifier cannot be longer, because there has to be a space for 2 additional segments and dots. So the maximum length of that field is 26 characters.
The proposed override of data sets is the only way I can think of how to solve it.

This field is meant to be only for the HLQ and at a length of 26 characters it allows for more that one segment name. This leaves the option to use the overrides to add two segments each with 8 characters and 2 periods. Making the initial HLQ longer than 26 will not allow for having two segments each with 8 characters and two periods.
