Issue/Introduction
The client was asked to research why a report that normally collects to CA View had not.
A similar report run (same job, same JCL) saw the report collected, but not this one.
Resolution
The client had the following SARINIT parameters:
. CLSL=A
. DEST=
. FORM=ARCS
One of the client's application output was collected by View, and there was a similar application job that was not collected.
In those jobs, there is JCL resolution with:
. SYSOUT=(A,,ARCS),HOLD=YES
Per definition, HOLD=YES means that the system is to hold a sysout dataset, until it is released by the system operator.
Upon researching, the client found that the report that had not been collected was so because the report had not been released, as the other one had been released and collected as expected.
The report in question was released, and View collected the report.
