Issue/Introduction

The following messages appeared in the SYSLOG:
CCITCPGW CAS9855I Task 10 has connection from <server1 name>(##.###.##.##):#####
CCITCPGW CAS9899E Task 10 Error: Unable to assign alias <server alias>
CCITCPGW CAS9899E Task 10 Error: to <SERVER1 NAME>
CCITCPGW CAS9899E Task 10 Error: Alias <server alias> already assigned
CCITCPGW CAS9899E Task 10 Error: to <SERVER2 NAME>
CCITCPGW CAS9861I Task 10 closing <server1 name>(##.###.##.##):#####

Environment

Cause

This CAS9899E message is indicating that a system attempted to connect <server1 name> to CCITCPGW, but has an alias that is already in use by system <server2 name>.

The ALIAS is defined in the CCIRMTD file on the connecting system. If not defined the ALIAS will be assigned based on the system name.

Resolution

Review these boxes <server1 name> and <server2 name> and make the necessary corrections
Define an ALIAS on the LOCAL statement if not already defined. The ALIAS name must be unique in your CCI network. Two systems can not have the same ALIAS.
