When 17.3 pdm_configure against Oracle database, a fatal error is seen

How to address a fatal error with pdm_configure in 17.3 release when using Oracle database?

Environment

Release : 17.3

Cause

64bit Oracle client module is needed for 17.3  

Configure.log shows an error like below:

Resolution

Install Oracle 64 bit client (Administrator Client is preferred) and use that location for the Oracle Home Path value in the pdm_configure screen
