How to promote an IP to sync to CAPC

Issue/Introduction

In the event that a device has a a correct IP associated to it on the DA but the IP is incorrect when searching for the same device in CAPC how can the correct IP be "synced" to CAPC

Environment

CAPM 3.7

Resolution

Use a REST client to do the following:

1. Identify the item id of the device by going to monitored items management and looking under the details tab

2. Perform a PUT against http://DAHOST:8581/rest/devices/manageable/<Item ID from #1>
- The REST body should be 
 
<ManageableDevice version="1.0.0">
<Item version="1.0.0">
<Name>NEW_NAME</Name>
</Item>
</ManageableDevice>

This will force the DA IP address to be synced to CAPC and be promoted over an old obsolete IP that would currently be seen in CAPC for the device in question. The result would be the device in question has the correct IP in CAPC inventory
