InterTest - CICS

Issue/Introduction

I am currently upgrading Intertest / Symdump for CICS from v10 to v11.
The CAVHAUTH and CAVHLOAD datasets must be APF authorized and in the LINKLIST.
I have 3 CICS regions that will be upgraded at separate times.

Will it work to have the APF and LINKLIST containing v11 datasets,
and
CICS1 have v11 datasets,
and
CICS2 and CICS3 have v10 datasets?

APF / LINKLIST       CA.INTSYM11.CAVHLOAD

CICS1                     //DFHRPL   DD DSN=CA.INTSYM11.CAVHLOAD,DISP=SHR

CICS2 and CICS3   //DFHRPL   DD DSN=CA.INTSYM10.CAVHLOAD,DISP=SHR

That's what I will have until getting all CICS regions upgraded.

Environment

Release : 11.0

Component : CA InterTest for CICS

Cause

Client concern any issue might rise with mix release using in CICS region and link list.

Resolution

For CICS product such as InterTest CICS(INTCICS) and SymDump CICS(SYMCICS) not much use CAVHCONF other then checking LMP key.

But for the batch product InterTest Batch(INTBAT) and SymDump Batch(SYMBAT) will take effect on mix release environment.

So as long as you only use INTCICS and/or SYMCICS then initialize CAVHINIT should not cause problem between r10 and r11.

The CICS products such as InterTest CICS and SymDump CICS using CICS start up JCL to allocate library. So it does not depend on library in link list allocation.
