Post Timesheet job is not posting approved timesheets - errors ORA-01483 / ORA-03106

Issue/Introduction

You ran the post timesheet job several times and a few approved timesheets will not post. Checking the bg-ca.logs, one or both of the following errors are found related to the Post Timesheets job:

ERROR 2020-05-04 13:18:51,972 [Dispatch Post Timesheets : [email protected](tenant=clarity)] xql2.xbl (clarity:admin:zzzzz....:Post Timesheets) POSTTIMESHEET: Error posting timesheet - unknown error-->timesheetID=5501895
java.lang.Exception: Failure while evaluating "not setActThru('assignment', 'task',  'calendar', 'project', timesheet.prStart, timesheet.prFinish, 'siteCal', $isAdjustment)" in expression "{not setActThru('assignment', 'task',  'calendar', 'project', timesheet.prStart, timesheet.prFinish, 'siteCal', $isAdjustment)}" error: java.sql.SQLException: [CA Clarity][Oracle JDBC Driver][Oracle]ORA-01483: invalid length for DATE or NUMBER bind variable

Resolution

1. Rerun the Post Timesheets job.
2. If the issue still happens, wait a couple of hours, then try running the job again.
3. If the job continues to intermittently fail with one of the above errors, see Investment Allocation Job / Portfolio Sync job fails with ORA-03106: fatal two-task communication protocol error
