Issue/Introduction

Trying to uninstall CA Adapter using the Uninstall-CA-Adapter-9.0.0.101.exe file in <ARCOT_HOME>\Uninstall CA Adapter 9.0.0.101 does not complete.  Same hang kind of behavior is observed using the Control Panel to uninstall the CA Adapter Program.

Cause

In general, the cause of this behavior is due the following two causes:

1. Due to windows registry issues this . When no registry issues one should be able to use Windows regedit and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE ==> SOFTWARE ==> Microsoft ==> Windows ==> CurrentVersion==>Uninstall==>CA Adapter.  Refer to this screen 



2.  Some issues with the <ARCOT_HOME> folder may cause the hang issue on uninstall of CA Adapter.


Resolution

1. For the Registry corruption issue one would have to restore the windows image to correct any registry issues. This should be worked out at the customer Windows imaging team.
2. Post #1 correction if the issue persists then rename the <ARCOT_HOME> folder and uninstall the CA Adapter using Windows Control panel.
