Top Secret Top Secret - LDAP WEB ADMINISTRATOR FOR TOP SECRET

Issue/Introduction

"ILM uses Mainframe Top Secret id/credentials from front end (Desktop App) to login into the application. Our question is if it is possible that Mainframe Top Secret/Backend-server can accept hashed password (Instead of plain text) passed from Front end (Client) and convert it to plain text,(using same hashing algorithm), for authentication."

Simply put:

Is it possible to used a hashed password?
The passwords currently appear in plain text on logs for the desktop application so this is coming up as an audit problem.

Environment

Release : 16.0

Component : CA Top Secret for z/OS

Resolution

Top Secret can not accept a hashed password because it could not be converted back to plain text.
