Issue/Introduction

Q1. Please explain what happens to Responses per interval when changing the time range on a graph?

Q2. Why are the Save to CSV Results different from the values that we see on a graph?

Environment

Release : 10.7.0

Component : APM Agents

Resolution

A1. When changing the time range on the graph, the resolution, which is the interval unit on the x-axis, of the graph will also be increased or decreased accordingly for re-rendering the graph display.  In the customer attached screenshot, the interval unit is hourly.  Thus, the "Responses Per Interval" metric data value shown on the graph would be the number of responses/transactions completed within each hour interval.  By default, the APM metric data resolution is 15 seconds and the interval unit is always in multiple of 15 seconds.

A2. Responses per Interval: In the table displaying the metrics, the number is the total number of responses for the selected time interval. When in historical mode and displaying a single metric you can export the data to CSV. The CSV will contain entries for each interval represented in the graph (resolution) and the sum of those entries will equal the total number of responses for the selected time interval. In live mode it is likely that the time interval will advance before the CSV is downloaded and entries summed, so the numbers on the GUI and CSV will be different.
