Question about running SQL Server Browser service with TDM

Issue/Introduction

Our security team thinks that we should not enable and start SQL Server Browser service because of security issues.

So, we have a question of why it has been included in the system requirement?

And is that important to be enabled and Why?

Release : All supported releases of TDM

Component : CA Test Data Manager

Cause

Resolution

That information is there, as advice, since some clients might have to do a discovery of the SQL Server from their client machines.

You do not need to have it on, unless you do not need to do an SQL Server discovery.
