Issue/Introduction

Case was opened in a request from our pre-sales colleague so that us in Support could send to customer the main points of a conversation
that our pre-sales colleague and us in Support had (as he is helping customer's group) regarding which method (in NetMaster
region deployment) to use for region parameters: Specify them on Customizer (/PARMS) versus specifying
them in the INIFILE (Initialization File) member.

Resolution

The following response was sent to customer--listing the points that we in Support agreed on with our pre-sales colleague:
-

1. Some NetMaster analysts prefer to manage region parameters on the INIFILE member--while others prefer to manage region parameters online on /PARMS groups

2. In large sites (many NetMaster regions running) we have seen INIFILE being used in already deployed environments--where less parameter maintenance occurs

3. A NetMaster system can--at any time--generate an INIFILE version of its parameters using option /CUSTOM.G

4. INIFILE is also used on NetMaster migration--please see the last techdocs link at the end of this article
