Issue/Introduction

We need to track the number of available ip addresses on our DHCP servers and alarm should the available ip addresses are 5 or less.

Can Spectrum monitor DHCP scope on a Windows DHCP server?

Environment

Release : Any

Component : Spectrum Core / SpectroSERVER

Resolution

Spectrum does support a DHCP mib but the DHCP mib supported does not contain information as to how many ip addresses are available to use.

Contact the vendor to find out if the device does support a DHCP mib that contains the information as to how many ip addresses are available to use.

If it does, than get a copy of this mib and import it into Spectrum using the Model Type Editor. Then, you will be able to use a SpectroWatch to monitor the available ip addresses and alarm when it falls below a specified threshold.
