Issue/Introduction

Would just like to know if the CA Common Services (CCS) PAX files recently downloaded contains maintenance up to the the date of the download.

Is there is an easy way to get a package built that contains the PTFs needed to for all the current maintenance that is not installed?

Environment

Release : 15.0

Component : CCS390 - CA COMMON SERVICES FOR Z/OS

Resolution

The BASE and LEGACY install packages are not changed from the date the product release goes GA. Therefore, the packages do not contain maintenance up to the date they are downloaded.

The CA Common Services for z/OS 15.0 BASE & LEGACY packages went GA back in January 2019, therefore it is necessary to obtain all maintenance since January 1, 2019.

General steps to manually obtain maintenance:

1. Go to CA Portal
2. Select Mainframe Software
3. Select Product Downloads
4. Select or Search for COMMON SERVICES
5. Select Solution Download
6. Select Latest Release 15.0
7. Select SINCE date of January 1, 2019
8. Click SEARCH
9. Click ADD ALL TO CART
10. Go to your CART and review. You can delete anything you know you don't have or is tied to a FMID you did not choose to install
11. Go to bottom and click CHECKOUT. This will build a zipfile

From the CART DOWNLOAD page, if you click on Help, you will see a link for Downloading Products. Click this link to see example input statement  to download zip file via FTP batch job.
