CA Test Data Manager service does't work

CA Test Data Manager (Data Finder / Grid Tools)

Issue/Introduction

The TDM  portal service no longer works, when I try to start it it goes up for 5 minutes and then it stops automatically.

The startup log is showing .

INFO   | jvm 1    | 2020/04/17 12:37:26 | [INFO] Failed to retrieve database connection. Waiting for 15s for connection to become available. Reason: Login failed for user 'gtrep'. ClientConnectionId:fd3154b9-21ea-4529-8c41-a3b9c0b53b7d
INFO   | jvm 1    | 2020/04/17 12:37:41 | [ERROR] Unable to create initial connections of pool.

Testing the odbc data connection is working fine.

Environment

Release : 4.8

Component : CA Test Data Manager

Resolution

TDM portal is not using the odbc datasource as connection but a Java JDBC connection .

Check the connection details in
C:\Program Files\CA\CA Test Data Manager Portal\conf \application.properties

spring.datasource.username=
spring.datasource.password=

Make sure the user and password are correct.
