ACF2 ACF2 - z/OS ACF2 - MISC

Issue/Introduction

When setting up BMC INCONTROL for z/OS, the Security Guide states that the resource rules for it can be set up under resource type FAC or CMF.

The manual talks about a CLASMAP, but does not give the field information to provide in order to create it.

What should the CLASMAP be for this product?

Resolution

The guide indicates that the resource call is being made for the FACILITY resource class.

There is already an internal CLASMAP provided within ACF2 which maps the resource class FACILITY to TYPE CODE FAC:

FACILITY    FAC    39

Do not add an external CLASMAP association for FACILITY mapped to CMF as this would cause problems with existing rules compiled under FAC for other processes making a FACILITY resource call.

The recommendation would be to leave the CLASMAP entries as they currently exist and modify the INCONTROL resource rule definitions to TYPE(FAC) instead of TYPE(CMF).
