Issue/Introduction

Disable Vertica management console ports 5450, 5444

 

Cause

Security requirements as the ports are not being utilized.

we install the vertica agent by default, but we do not use it.

it is used for access to the vertica management console, which we do not use.

Resolution

a) stop the vertica-agent service

/opt/vertica/sbin/vertica_agent stop

b) systemctl disable vertica_agent.service

That should kill simply_fast.py also which listens on 5450
