For highly compressable data sets we have a compression rate of 100 in the related TMC volume and DSNB records. This was seen for data sets with a real compression rate > 99,5. which should not have been rounded up to 100. A COMPRES value of 100 in the TMC makes the calculation in the EARL TMETPUSE report as well as the calculation for the size of tape data sets in the Vantage Volumes and Files object unusable.
How to set the COMPRES value for all TMC volume records and DSNB records that currently a value of 100 to 99?
Environment
Release : 14.0
Component : CA 1 Tape Management
Resolution
Run the attached EARL Report and update the TMC running TMSUPTE and TMSUDSNB using the generated control statements from the TMSUPDTE/TMSUDSNB DD statements.
Additional Information
PTF SO12740 is available to prevent invalid compression ratio of 100. With this fix installed a compression rate > 99.5 will no longer be rounded up to 100 and will be set to 99.
